When Oregon schools reopened after winter break, Portland Opera to Go, with a grant from the Cultural Trust, embarked on a three month winter tour of 75 schools statewide with a mobile production of The Magic Flute. Additionally, seven professional singers, an accompanist and a tour manager will do in-school residencies that include a comprehensive study and lesson plans that use opera to address issues in social studies, sciences, language arts and math.POGO aims to reach every corner of the state, particularly those communities and Oregonians who have little access to arts programs.
