On October 13-14 the Oregon Cultural Trust had a stage, an exhibitor booth and emcee duties at Wordstock Festival, recipient of a Trust grant this year.

In addition to being fertile ground for new writers, established authors, indie publishers and more traditional publishing houses, Wordstock would wake any attendee up to the plethora of publishing options in our state.

Indeed, Oregon is on the cutting edge of the creative movement, including independent publishing. Indie publishing includes small presses and do-it-yourself resources for digital and print publishing, among them hand printed letter presses, screen printing, block printing and artisanal bookmaking, a hot new trend in the Portland Metro Area.

The Cultural Trust recognizes the literary arts as an art and humanities discipline and is proud to have granted Wordstock in FY2013!
