Junction City Historical Society was founded in 1972, coinciding with the centennial of the City’s founding in 1872. The Dr. Norman Lee House Museum, opened in 1972 is the only building in Junction City listed on the National Register of Historic places. The Mary E. Pitney House Museum and Milliorn Cemetery properties have been since added. Our mission is to preserve and document the community’s history and to communicate that history to new generations of citizens and newcomers to the area.
