NWHP began in 1978 with a project to find and preserve the stories of women who worked in the shipyards in the Portland/Vancouver area during WWII doing what was traditionally ‘men’s work.’ We conducted oral history interviews, gathered images and produced a slide show and now a DVD Good Work, Sister! Women Shipyard Workers of World War II: An Oral History. We continue to show the DVD, speak at showings, and distribute the DVD and study guide to schools, libraries and individuals.
