The Vernonia Hands on Art Center was established in 1996 following a devastating flood to provide art therapy for children. Over the past twenty years, the vision has broadened; and a wide variety of projects and programs related to the arts and the community’s heritage have been offered. The organization’s mission is to provide a high quality learning environment that celebrates the creative spirit by exposing the community to the arts and honors the community’s heritage.
